Stacey McCabe

Dr. Stacey McCabe is a skilled physical therapy specialist with experience in treating patients from their teens to their nineties who suffer from orthopedic, neuromuscular, and balance disorders.  After the successful completion of her Bachelors of Science degree with a minor in biology at Purdue University, Dr. McCabe enrolled in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Indiana University.  While attending she was the recipient of the Integumentary, Musculoskeletal, Cardiopulmonary, Neurorehabilitation, Foundational Sciences, and William Porter Awards.

She began her PT career as a  provider of compassionate care for veterans of all ages in outpatient, hospital, and acute care settings.  She has been a physical therapy representative at hospitals, participating in daily rounds with orthopedic and general physician services.  With her knowledge base in all aspects of patient care, Dr. McCabe has served as a clinical instructor for the newer wave of physical therapy doctors at Roudebush VA Medical Center.  In addition she developed “Family Day of Care” to help the transition of patients from the local area rehab unit back to their home.  At the Drake    Center, Dr. McCabe was involved in the “Career Ladder” program for geriatric specialization.  She has also provided her patients with home safety evaluations for complex patients to aid in their discharge from skilled services to home life.

Dr. McCabe strives to ensure that she enhances her patients’ quality of life and their return to optimal function with integrated use of manual therapy for improved blood flow and tissue healing, as well as individualized exercise programs that emphasize tri-planar movements.   She has appeared multiple times on Eagle 99.3’s “Dr. on Call” show to educate listeners in injury prevention and promote the field of physical therapy.

Dr. McCabe is originally from Lafayette, Indiana, where she excelled scholastically and as a three sport athlete.  She moved to Dearborn County in 2009 after meeting her husband and joining the McCabe greenhouse clan.  She is an avid participant in road and mountain biking, as well as adventure racing and orienteering events..
